SA’s most popular pick-up line revealed

South Africa’s most popular pick-up line is ”Here’s R5. Go and phone your parents and tell them you won’t be home tonight”, according to dating website YesnomayB.com.

The results of an online survey of about 2 000 South Africans also said that one in three people would dump their partner for a date with a celebrity.

Half said they would have sex on a first date, and swimming champion Ryk Neethling and actress Charlize Theron were voted dream dates.

Neethling beat international hot date and new dad Brad Pitt.

Cricket player Makhaya Ntini, rugby player Brian Habana, performer Zola, YFM DJ Paul ”Rudeboy” Mnisi, Idol Gift Gwe, Idols presenter Colin Moss and 5FM radio DJ Gareth Cliff were also on the dream-date list, which included Robbie Williams.

Female local dream dates included models Lee-Ann Liebenberg and Minki van der Westhuizen, YFM DJ Unathi Nkayi, Isidingo actress Hlubi Mboya, YFM DJ Elana Afrika and Idols winner Karin Kortje.

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton, performer Beyonce and actress Jessica Alba were the international hot dates.

A good personality was important for 42%, and 22% said a sense of humour is what they look for in a potential partner.
