Bok coach selects untested centre pairing for Test

Springbok coach Jake White announced a new centre pairing to face Scotland in the second Test in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Injuries to centres Jean de Villiers and Jaque Fourie forced White to select the untested combination of Olivier and Snyman.

It will be Olivier’s first start in the Bok jersey after coming on as a substitute in his Test debut against Scotland in Durban last week while Snyman will be making his 37th appearance for the Boks.

Bulls winger Bryan Habana returns to Test rugby after being sidelined by an ankle injury and will immediately slot into the wing position in Snyman’s place.

White has made two further changes to the bench with CJ van der Linde, Albert van den Berg and Wayne Julies making their return to the fold after also being sidelined through injury with prop Lawrence Sephaka being the only notable absentee from the Bok bench of last week.

However, White has retained the same pack that annihilated Scotland in the opening Test. – Sapa
