Four men have been arrested in Joubert Park in connection with the murder of actor Moto Silumo, Johannesburg police said on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Bhekizizwe Mavundla said the men — aged 31, 34, 43 and 44 — were arrested on Monday night, shortly after the actor was shot dead at Belmonica Flats.
Mavundla said the men were staying at the flats on the corner of Lleyds and Wanderers streets in Joubert Park.
One licensed firearm was confiscated.
Silumo, best known as ”Tiny” in advertisements of a popular chicken fast-food outlet, was shot four times at about 8.30pm on Monday.
He was certified dead at the scene.
The motive for the killing was still under investigation, said Mavundla.
The four men would appear shortly in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, police said. — Sapa
