I recently spoke to a couple who follow a very interesting financial philosophy. Once a year they hold a family annual general meeting (AGM) where they write down all the “material” things they want from life.
This could be a pot plant for the bathroom, a family holiday or even their first home — they write down everything, from the small details to the big stuff.
They discuss it and write it down and put it away in draw. They never even look at it again until the next AGM the following year.
They told me that without fail all their goals and dreams had come about — without even trying or drawing up a complicated strategy or putting in timelines. By just having written it down and making it tangible, it had happened.
So how about this weekend setting time aside for an AGM with your family or yourself. Think about what you want from the year ahead and write it down — you may be amazed.
