Two as One features two choreographers and dancers and two musicians from Japan and South Africa who fuse their skills to make a unifying show.
The choreographer-dancers, Kenshi Nohmi and Jacki Job, perform a duet inspired by the theme of rhythm and flow. The difference in cultures and the distance in geographic locations and sociopolitical influences affect the movement, body language and styles of dance and flow. These interactions create unique aesthetics. Japanese taiko (drum) player Hidano Shuichi and South African soundscapist-musician Garth Erasmus accompany the dancers on stage. This once-off event is a Japan Foundation and South African Dance collaboration.
