The biggest outdoor bash this weekend is sure to be the David Guetta and Akon SA Tour 2011.
The organisers announced this week that extra tickets for both the Cape Town and Jo’burg shows had been released owing to demand, but even so, it’s unlikely that anything will be left by the weekend.
The organisers are promising “live music experienced on a scale never before witnessed on local shores”, something to live up to indeed. Superstars Guetta and Akon’s creative partnership can be heard on Guetta’s new album Nothing but the Beat, and the two will be supported by renowned American DJs Joe Bermudez (who recently opened for Lady Gaga) and Jenny LaFemme (from the 1990s Detroit underground house scene). Local heroes Jax Panik local deejays Dean Fuel and 5FM’s Poppy will warm up the house.
