CONSULTING SERVICES TO ASSIST THE TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION AGENCY CONDUCT FEASIBILITY STUDIES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A KZN BIOPROCESSING CLUSTER AND A LIMPOPO AGRO-PROCESSING CLUSTER

The Agency aims to facilitate and support bioprocessing and agro-processing industry initiatives in KZN and Limpopo respectively.

TIA invites qualified and experienced service providers to conduct two feasibility studies for the establishment of (a) the KZN Bioprocessing Cluster and/or (b) the Limpopo Agro-Processing Biocluster.

The service providers are required to analyse bioprocessing and agro-processing activities in both provinces, conduct extensive stakeholder analysis, engage with provincial Higher Education Institutions, Science Councils and Companies to assess their involvement across the bio-processing and agro-processing value chains, identify any gaps in terms of skills and infrastructure, and conduct a benchmarking exercise to identify best practices in terms of cluster governance structures and operational models.

Based on the findings, comprehensive recommendations should be provided on the optimal operational frameworks and governance structures that TIA should adopt to facilitate the establishment of the aforesaid Bioclusters.

For further information and submission requirements, please visit TIA website on www.tia.org.za.
