Twitter wastes no time when popular tweeters make a mess of things. And Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille was no different.
Reports on Sunday emerged that Zille made questionable comments about the party’s former parliamentary leader, Lindiwe Mazibuko. The most talked about one was that she “made” Mazibuko, referring to her success within the party.
After the May 7 election, Mazibuko pulled out of the opposition’s parliamentary, saying she was going to further her studies at Harvard instead. But a DA MP told the Mail & Guardian last week that Mazibuko had been unhappy for some time since she differed with party Zille on the party’s position on the Employment Equity Amendment Bill, and that she was “emotionally drained”.
