The SABC now has a new chief executive. (Delwyn Verasamy, M&G)

The SABC has appointed a new group chief executive officer, the public broadcaster announced.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the SABC Online revealed that James Aguma would take over from outgoing acting group chief executive Jimi Matthews, who resigned on Monday.
