Cyril Ramaphosa has secured Gauteng, Limpopo, the Northern Cape, the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape in his bid to become the next president of the ANC.
Although Ramaphosa is no stranger to politics, with his roots in the trade union movement and his lead role during the Codesa talks for a democratic South Africa, the politician-turned-businessman was out for the spotlight for most of the 2000s as he pursued business interests.
Forbes estimated his wealth at $450-million in 2015 and he is being touted as one of two likely candidate to replace Jacob Zuma in the upcoming elective conference.
