A new scheme has been created with the hope it will cool popular anger over high housing prices in China — but the numbers don’t add up enough.
Chinese inflation topped expectations in February at 4,9% and looks set to climb further, adding to pressure for another dose of monetary tightening.
Beijing will take retaliatory steps if the United States declares China a currency manipulator and imposes trade sanctions.
