It is well known that women in many countries tend to live longer than men. We also know that some diseases affect men more than women and vice versa.
The Hollywood heart attack (think Elliott Gould in <i>Ocean’s 13</i>) involves dramatic chest clutching and collapse. But in reality, symptoms vary.
Broccoli and other vegetables such as cauliflower and cabbage contain a group of phytochemicals that seem to have cancer-preventing properties.
In the latest study researchers at Imperial College, London, found that men with a history of gum disease had a 14% higher chance of getting cancer.
Stress affects one in five of the working population, according to the Stress Management Society, a non-profit group. ”Recent research shows that the body is designed to experience intense stress two or three times per month but we’re living like this all the time,” says founder Neil Shah. ”It’s like asking a sprinter to maintain their pace for a marathon.”
How about this for a weight-loss tip: ”Eat six small meals a day spaced about three hours apart. At 50 calories six times a day, that is only 300 calories. Your body will thank you and so will your metabolism!” Sound stringent? It is. Remember, ”you can never be too thin”.
