South Africa’s Public Enterprises Minister Alec Erwin said on Friday that he had never referred to saboteurs at Koeberg. Speaking at a press conference at Koeberg, outside Cape Town, he said this had been media spin. ”I did not use the term ‘sabotage’,” Erwin said.

R&B sensation Tsakani "TK" Mhinga was on Monday found dead in a Bryanston hotel, northern Johannesburg, police said. "We didn’t find any physical injuries on her body, but we will wait for the post-mortem report and the medical report" to establish the cause of death, a police spokesperson told the <i>Mail & Guardian Online</i>.

A tremor of a magnitude of 3,6 on the Richter scale was recorded in the East Rand, 8km north-west of Germiston, on Tuesday at 11.13am, said Ian Saunders, project leader for the South African National Seismograph Network at the Council for Geoscience in Pretoria. The tremor was felt in many parts of Johannesburg.

The Nelson Mandela metropolitan council has dropped plans to rebury the remains of President Thabo Mbeki’s late father, Govan, the South African Broadcasting Corporation reported on Tuesday. The municipality earlier announced plans to relocate his remains to the newly built Red Location Museum. However, the family objected.
