Igesund takes no risks against Cosmos

SuperSport, Celtic share the spoils

SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic earned a point each after they drew 2-2 in their Castle Premier Soccer League clash at the Loftus Versfeld on Sunday. The result means SuperSport jump to fifth while Celtic remain in eighth place. Kaizer Chiefs, who beat Maritzburg United 3-0, stay in ninth with 42 points.

Lively Cosmos down sluggish Ajax

Jomo Cosmos convincingly beat Ajax Cape Town 3-0 in a Castle Premiership clash played at the Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa on Saturday. Cosmos left-back Sydney Plaaitjies scored the first goal in the 29th minute, Innocent Ntsume doubled the lead three minutes before halftime and Davies Mwape sealed victory.

Fanteni sends Ajax to cup of dreams

Thembinkosi ”Terror” Fanteni scored in the 52nd minute to earn a victory for Ajax Cape Town against their city rivals Santos in an Absa Cup semifinal clash played at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday. Ajax left-back Brett Evans swung a corner kick to the far post which Dominic Isaacs headed towards goal and which Fanteni cheekily flicked into the back of the net.

Swallows, AmaZulu fail to fire

Moroka Swallows and AmaZulu played to a goalless draw in their Premier Soccer League clash at the Germiston Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Both teams had good scoring opportunities but neither could capitalise on the chances created in front of a vociferous crowd on a warm Gauteng afternoon.
