South Africa’s Rory Sabbatini withdrew from the Target World Challenge before the start of Sunday’s final round, citing personal reasons. The 31-year-old, playing in the elite 16-man event for the first time, propped up the leaderboard after shooting a four-over-par 76 in Saturday’s third round at Sherwood Country Club.

Zimbabwe has struck a deal to import crude oil from Equatorial Guinea and is planning to reopen a refinery to process fuel and ease acute shortages, state media reported on Monday. Crunch shortages of fuel, foreign currency and food are a sign of the Southern African nation’s deep economic crisis.

Animal activists and pet shop owners on Monday called for a ban on a tiny fish tank designed to be hooked up to a music player such as an iPod and used as a speaker. The iPond, reportedly sold in some Australia pet stores complete with a Siamese fighting fish, is a miniature fish tank which holds about 650ml of water.

Russia warned on Monday that Kosovo could slip into ”uncontrollable crisis,” ahead of a United Nations Security Council showdown over the Serbian province’s push for independence. The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that the ”indulgence” of some countries in allowing Kosovo to move towards independence could have ”serious negative consequences” for stability.

Iran will not halt uranium enrichment even with delivery of fuel from Russia for its first nuclear power plant, a senior Iranian official said on Monday, adding he could not yet confirm Iran had received the fuel. The Russian state agency building the station said in a statement on Monday it had delivered the first fuel shipment for the Bushehr plant.

Burundi’s state employees went back to work on Monday, ending an unprecedented two-week general strike and months of protests by the small Central African nation’s public sector.
