Bomb explodes on Jerusalem bus

A bomb attack on a bus in west Jerusalem on Sunday killed ”several people”, police said, while Israeli public radio spoke of at least 30 wounded. ”There have been several killed and many injured. The number 14 bus was packed and the explosion happened in the bus,” police spokesperson Micky Levy told public radio.

New effort to stamp out polio once and for all

Ten African countries will launch a vast campaign on Monday that is designed to eradicate the crippling disease of polio on the continent once and for all, health officials said. It is estimated that over 60-million children will be vaccinated, the United Nations World Health Organisation (WHO) announced in a statement on Friday.
