The odds are heavily stacked against the South African national under-23 soccer team, AmaGlug-Glug, who will face Zambia in the Athens Olympics second-leg qualifier in Zambia on February 21. Australia drew first blood in the Spar Challenge hockey series when they beat South Africa 2-1 in an exciting first Test played at the Randburg Hockey Stadium on Wednesday night. The win exacted a measure of revenge for the visitors, who were beaten 4-3 in the four-Nation tournament in Athens at the weekend.

North Africa rivals Tunisia and Morocco will meet in the African Cup of Nations final on Saturday after coming through their semifinals in vastly contrasting fashions on Wednesday. Tunisia came from a goal down to force extra-time against Nigeria before triumphing in a penalty shoot-out at the Rades Stadium while Morocco, champions in 1976, cruised past Mali 4-0 in Sousse.
