As Pirates fans deliriously celebrate their second premiership title in three years, the frenzy should not be so much out of jubilation but relief. Zanu-PF conceded this week that the opposition’s gains in the recent municipal elections had given it ”a rude wake-up call”. Information Minister Jonathan Moyo, speaking for Zanu-PF, said the MDC’s victory in most of the contested towns was sobering and the party needed to examine the reasons for its losses.
