GOLDEN Lions skipper Hannes Strydom will miss his team’s Currie Cup semi-final match against South Western Districts in Johannesburg on Saturday. The Lions on Thursday named Strydom in their starting line-up, but a hamstring injury suffered a fortnight ago against Boland has ruled the lock forward out for the second game in succession.

THE South African All African Games Team management announced two changes to the 600-strong team on Friday. Both changes are due to injuries, with swimmer, Merlin Fredericks and weightlifter Marna van Schoor dropping out. Fredericks was entered in the 50m freestyle event, while van Schoor was due to take part in the 75kg weightlifting contest.
