TYAMZASHE RETAINED AS BALFOUR’s ADVISOR

THE Department of Sports and Recreation on Thursday announced its director-general, Mthobi Tyamzashe, would be retained in the department as the new adviser to Sports Minister Ngconde Balfour. Balfour said Tyamzashe, who was director-general for five years, would stay on as his advisor until the end of the year. Balfour said Denver Hendrick would replace Tyamzashe as acting director-general. He said he appreciated Tyamzashe’s contribution to the department, but he had to be replaced before the start of the South African Sports Commission (SASC) on October 1. He said the position for executive officer of the SASC would be advertised soon.
