Iraqis suffer as government collapses

As Iraqis queue forlornly for food and water, or swelter in homes and hospitals without electricity, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s coalition government is collapsing around him. The latest boycott brought to 17 the number of members of the Shi’ite-led coalition to have walked out, tendered their resignations or withdrawn from Cabinet meetings.

Healthy cover for sick days

Younger people will face the biggest financial losses if they do not have enough insurance to replace their income should they become disabled or ill — simply because they have a longer life span during which they need to draw an income. When we are in the prime of our youth we might feel invincible, but the reality is that 20% of disability claims are a result of car accidents, which tend to affect younger people.

Is your last will your last wish?

A will cannot reflect your last wishes if it was drawn up 40 years ago. It might be your last will, but it is not your last wish. Saving vs paying off debt

I recently resigned after 10 and a half years of service. I have a very good pension fund with my current employer. My new employer does not have a pension fund or any other type of fund. We have thought about taking a lump sum and putting it into our bond, but don’t know if that would be the right option. Would it be better to transfer it into another pension fund, asks Candice Mitchell.

According to Mark Taylor, managing director at Nashua Mobile, the first step a subscriber should take when selecting a package is to look at his or her monthly call costs and budget. The porting experience

As my Vodacom contract was about to end, I decided to port. I had to complete a new application form, with all the Fica requirements, which was a real hassle. At that point, I wondered whether it would not have been easier to stick with my current provider.

ICC: Sudan must hand over Darfur fugitives

The Sudanese government must hand over for trial the man accused of masterminding the Darfur massacre or risk becoming a pariah nation, the International Criminal Court (ICC) chief prosecutor said on Tuesday. Luis Moreno-Ocampo said any peace deal would have to respect international law and warrants for the arrest of Sudanese Minister Ahmad Harun.
