Ozzy: ‘I would have mooned the queen’

Notorious rock hell-raiser Ozzy Osbourne admitted on Sunday he was a few beers away from mooning Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and cannot fathom why Her Majesty would want to meet the ”tattoed lunatic”. He said former Guns n’ Roses guitarist Slash offered him cash to flash his backside at the Royal Variety Show last month.

Thousands gather for first anti-WTO march

Thousands of anti-globalisation activists — some dressed like chickens and others carrying a big spider — held on Sunday their first protest march ahead of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) summit in Hong Kong. Overseas activists have been flooding into Hong Kong ahead of the WTO’s meeting from December 13 to 18.

Saudi Arabia: ‘No need to change oil output’

Oil heavyweight Saudi Arabia set the tone on Sunday on the eve of an Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) meeting on prices and production, saying there is no need to change present output at least for the first quarter of 2006. Opec is currently pumping about 30-million barrels a day of crude, a third of world demand.

Zuma accuser’s home trashed

The Durban home of the 31-year-old woman who has accused former deputy president Jacob Zuma of raping her was broken into and trashed days after he was formally charged, City Press reported on Sunday. Kwa-Mashu police confirmed they are investigating the incident.

Chelsea fight hard to extend win

John Terry’s second-half header saw reigning champions Chelsea extend their lead at the top of the Premiership to 12 points as the Blues beat Wigan 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in London on Saturday. European kings Liverpool moved up into second place with a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Dynamos beat high-riding Ajax

Dynamos earned three valuable points when they beat high-riding Ajax Cape Town one-nil at a windy Athlone Stadium on Saturday night. The only goal was scored in the 35th minute. Ajax were all over the visitors but poor passing and shooting saw them finish goalless.
