United States President George Bush said on Friday the execution of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was an important milestone on the country’s path to democracy. ”Bringing Saddam Hussein to justice will not end the violence in Iraq, but it is an important milestone on Iraq’s course to becoming a democracy that can govern, sustain, and defend itself,” Bush said in a statement.

President George Bush’s tactic heading into the third and final presidential debate this week is to paint his opponent John Kerry as a dangerous leftist who wants to increase the government’s role in public life. ”You’re going to hear a lot more about Senator Kerry’s record in the coming days,” Bush strategist Karl Rove advised.
