Natwest Three plead guilty to $7,3m fraud

A trio of British bankers dubbed the ”Natwest Three” face 37 months in prison after pleading guilty to stealing ,3-million tied to the collapse of Enron. The men, who worked for Natwest’s investment banking arm, concocted a deal in 2000 with two senior Enron executives who have since been jailed.

Wall Street cringes as Citigroup revives fears

Fear and mistrust gripped Wall Street on Monday after Citigroup’s CEO quit in the wake of mounting credit losses and an influential money manager called the subprime mortgage market a ”-trillion problem”. US stocks followed European shares lower, while safe-haven bonds rallied and even the downtrodden dollar ticked up.

New search start-up hopes to rival Google

The dozens of entrepreneurs gathered for an exclusive high-tech conference in San Francisco this week all hoped to dazzle the crowd with their ingenuity. But one start-up, Powerset, is pursuing a particularly challenging goal: it is aiming to outshine the internet’s brightest star with a new search engine built to outsmart Google.
