Government says Monday’s talks with Amcu and mining bosses will determine whether it continues with it’s intervention in the platinum wage dispute.
Impala Platinum has rejected claims that the platinum mining companies have been involved in tax evasion activities.
Three major platinum producers have dismissed reports of an agreement in the long-standing wage dispute with mining union Amcu.
The cost of Amcu’s 15-week wage strike and the data gathered from the mining companies’ SMS polls will be made public at the Labour Court.
At an undisclosed location, mine representatives will continue to meet with Amcu – whose members downed tools demanding a basic salary of R12 500.
The country’s second largest lender of unsecured loans is setting aside more money for bad debt as mine strikes and a slow economy hit consumers.
Mining union Amcu will meet with its members this week to decide whether to down tools at Anglo, Implats and Lonmin mines.

Impala Platinum Mine has dismissed 5 000 workers in Rustenburg after they embarked on a salary-related illegal strike, the company says.
