Thursday is World Water Day, and the United Nations is stressing the importance of good governance and proper management of water resources at both international and local levels. The theme of World Water Day 2007, <i>Coping with Water Scarcity</i>, will require addressing a range of issues.

The key reasons for the growing divide between Muslim and Western societies are not religious but political, concludes a report presented to United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan on Monday in Istanbul, Turkey.
