Busa says corporate balance sheets are "strong and clean", adding that earnings growth appears to have been positive in several sectors.
Busa said there is no need for drastic action in the South African economy, but rather encourages government to spend its money better.
Government and business could be in for a standoff over regulations on executive pay, if local authorities decide to tackle excessive salaries.
The Black Management Forum has left Business Unity South Africa, saying its flawed structure "outnumbered and suppressed the black business voice".

Industrial users of electricity feel that they are bearing the brunt of electricity rationing, while more needs to be done to involve other sectors of society, an energy working group said in Cape Town on Friday. ”Busa [Business Unity South Africa] said that businesses are bearing the brunt of this and need the rest of the economy to come in,” Public Enterprises Minister Alec Erwin said.
