The body of two Mozambican men were found in Limpopo on Saturday, one inside the Kruger National Park and one just outside the park’s fence, police said. Superintendent Moatshe Ngoepe said the men were crossing the park to get from Mozambique to South Africa illegally.

China on Sunday signed trade deals with 10 African nations worth ,9-billion, with the biggest contract involving aluminium production in Egypt, a Chinese official said as the China-Africa summit ended in Beijing. The contracts and agreements cover cooperation in natural resources, infrastructure, finance, technology and communications.

In another deadly weekend on Gauteng’s roads, at least five people were killed in three serious accidents, and two cars caught fire on the busy N1 highway, causing huge traffic jams. A Volkswagen Golf exploded on the N1 while travelling from Roodepoort to Pretoria on Saturday night, ER24 said.

A colonial-era railway that was once the lifeblood of Indonesia’s Aceh could paradoxically be revived in the wake of the Indian Ocean tsunami, which obliterated the coastline of the province. Built in 1876 by the Dutch, the 600km single-gauge railway in the north of Sumatra island sank into oblivion a century later amid unrest.

A detective suspended after testing positive for drugs says his wife served him meatballs spiked with marijuana because she wanted to keep him out of harm’s way by forcing him into retirement. An administrative judge believed him, and recommended this week that Anthony Chiofalo be reinstated.

Four people, including at least two pro-presidential militiamen, were killed on Friday during a demonstration in Abidjan against militia members accused of racketeering and abuse, national public television reported. The victims included two soldiers from a militia group loyal to President Laurent Gbagbo.

Borat, the film starring an obnoxious spoof Kazakh reporter, has put the central Asian nation in the world spotlight, Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Britain grudgingly admitted on Saturday. ”Let me admit it: we Kazakhs owe Sacha Baron Cohen, Borat’s creator, a debt,” the ambassador wrote in the Times newspaper.

Captain Ricky Ponting emerged as the star of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) awards ceremony on Friday as Australia dominated by claiming four prizes. Ponting was adjudged the year’s best player and the most outstanding Test cricketer of the season.
