Lindo Myeni, 29, is a community manager for Clockwork Media where he  implements social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies.

Quickly gaining recognition for providing engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts led to a number of impactful campaigns that have gone on to win awards, including NextGen.

He has also won awards as an influencer. Lindo is known for responding to comments and customer queries in a highly professional, timely manner and running campaigns that are shaping the world and changing people’s lives.

After completing his national diploma in contact centre management at the Tshwane University of Technology, he specialised in social media marketing at Red and Yellow and is currently doing a digital marketing course. He also runs an online recruitment centre called @TrendingJobs where he assists graduates to get job opportunities in their field in one place.

What advice would he give to his younger self? “I would go back to my younger self and tell him to never listen to anyone who says you can’t do something and always believe in yourself. Always keep your head up, no matter what happens along your journey. Persevere,” he says.

I have won awards from NextGen for campaigns that we run in my previous agencies and I also won awards as an influencer.

I grew up with my grannie who didn’t get a chance to finish school but encouraged us to go to school and achieve great things.

I would go back to my younger self and tell him – never listen to anyone who says you can’t do something and always believe in yourself. Always keep your head up, no matter what happens in your journey. Persevere.

I would like to see a crime-free South Africa, a much safer place to raise a girl child. I would like to see leaders that will put the needs of people before their own benefits. I would also like to see the best innovations that will shape the world come to/from South Africa because we are equally capable.
