‘ONLY WAY TO STOP LOMU’

ENGLISH wingers Austin Healey and Dan Luger have been told there is only one way to stop New Zealand’s Jonah Lomu in the Group D showdown at Twickenham on Saturday – throw dung in his face. As right-wing, Healey, one of the smallest players in the competition, is in line to to play opposite the All Black powerhouse although England coach Clive Woodward may consider switching the more powerful Luger from the left. Their England team-mates have gleefully passed on the advice of a former coach who told his player that the only way to stop Lomu was to find some manure throw and sling it in his face as he bore down on him. When the confused winger asked his coach where he might find dung on a rugby pitch, he was told: “Don’t worry, there will be plenty of it about when Jonah Lomu’s running straight at you.”
