SANGOMA, CLIENT ARRESTED AFTER STABBING

A MAN who stabbed a woman several times and cut off her thumb is believed to have wrapped it in a bag with her faeces before taking it to a Northern Province sangoma. Police representative Inspector Moatshe Ngoepe said the man attacked Stella Gumede, 34 at around 2.30pm on Monday when she was walking back from a maize field in Edenburg in the Mala District. Gumede is believed to have fainted and came around after the man had cut off her right thumb. The 39-year-old man wrapped the thumb in a bag with Gumede’s faeces. Police managed to track the alleged attacker to a sangoma, where they recovered the thumb. Both the alleged attacker and the sangoma were taken in for questioning.
