UK MAN DEPORTED FOR CHILUBA INSULT

STEWART BRUCE PRESTON, a plant and transport supervisor accused of defaming Zambian President Frederick Chiluba, has been deported as his case awaits judgment in a Lusaka Magistrate’s Court. Preston’s lawyer Edgar Lungu disclosed that his client was picked up by police last Thursday and detained at Lusaka Central prison pending deportation to Britain. Preston was arrested and charged on June 16 1998 for allegedly saying to an employee: “Your brains are short like your fucking short president.”
