FOREIGN Minister Alfred Nzo on Tuesday announced the appointment of Ambassador Dumisani Shadrack Kumalo as the permanent representative to the South African Mission at the United Nations in New York, with effect from April 5 1999. Kumalo (52), has been the director of the United States desk since joining the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1997. A former journalist, Kumalo lived for more than 20 years in political exile in the US.
