Three people have been charged for last week’s twin car bomb blasts in Mumbai that killed 52 people, police sources said.
According to television channels two of the three were involved in the actual planting of the the bombs that blew up in the back seats of taxis in a crowded market area and near the landmark Gateway of India monument.
More than 150 people were injured in the attacks.
The three, who were among a group of five people arrested last week, were due to be produced in a local court later on Monday to face terrorism charges, a police source said.
”The details of the arrests and charges will be given by the police commissioner later in the evening,” the official added.
The three have been charged under the Prevention of Terrorist Act, an anti-terrorist law passed by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party last year despite nationwide political opposition. — Sapa-AFP
