Orlando Pirates take easy African Champions Cup win

MONDAY, 2.00PM:

ORLANDO PIRATES won the second leg of their clash against Caps United of Zimbabwe 1-0 yesterday, and their 3-1 aggregate overall takes them through to the quarterfinals of the African Champions Cup.

Caps tried hard in the first half, almost scoring twice — once when Morgan Nkatazo missed the net by inches with a header, and again when Stewart Murisa’s kick was narrowly deflected by the Bucs’ goalkeeper.

But Bucs put on the pressure, and the goal came in the 37th minute, when crowd-favourite Jerry Sikhosana passed to Helman Mkhalele, who netted it with no trouble. Bucs dominated the second half, with the ball staying firmly in the Caps’ half, but no more goals resulted.
