Rangers unbeatable in Premier League

THURSDAY, 11.30AM:

MANNING RANGERS secured the Castle Premier League soccer title with their 1-0 win over Bush Bucks in Chatsworth Stadium, near Durban on Wednesday night. Rangers, who have been leading the log for weeks now, needed only one point to win the league, and the goal came in the 33rd minute from Marcus Mphafudi.

Orlando Pirates, who have been creeping up behind the leaders, lost their chance to overtake when they drew 1-1 against Cape Town Spurs. Spurs scored first, in the 35th minute, and after Pirates equalized in the 42nd minute, neither side gained the edge.

The Castle Premier League match between Sundowns and Witbank Aces will be played a week earlier than expected. The match has been bought forward to June 3 at Odi Stadium, near Pretoria.
