Sierra Leone’s Nations Cup qualifiers move to Mali

TUESDAY, 10.45AM:

The fighting in Sierra Leone, following the coup d’etat there, has forced the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to shift the Sierra Leonean national team’s two remaining matches in the African Cup of Nations Cup qualifiers to Mali.

Sierra Leone needs to win both games to qualify for the finals in Burkina Faso in February. The Leone Stars will play against Tunisia in Bamako on July 23 and Guinea four days later at the same venue.

CAF said the fighting in Freetown has made it difficult for the matches to be staged there.
