Boks score landslide victory over Aussies

MONDAY, 1.00PM:

THE Springboks won their final Tri-nations Test match against Australia 61-22 at Loftus Versveld Stadium on Saturday. The Boks scored six tries in the second half to add to two first-half tries.

The victory takes some of the pressure off coach Carel Du Plessis, widely expected to be axed if his team failed yet again.

Star of the game was scrumhalf Joost van der Westhuizen. Powered by their backs, the Boks scored eight tries against a sluggish Australian side.

SOUTH AFRICA: Tries by Percy Montgomery (2), Warren Brosnihan, Mark Andrews, Johan Erasmus, James Dalton, Pieter Rossouw, and Jannie de Beer, six conversions and three penalties by De Beer.

AUSTRALIA: Tries by Joe Roff, Jason Little and David Knox, two conversions and penalty by Knox.
