Favourites Pirates lose African league game

MONDAY, 1.00PM:

ORLANDO Pirates went down 2-1 to Premeiro of Angola in the African Champions League match at FNB Stadium on Saturday. Pirates, who are favoured to win the league, scored first through midfielder Dumisani Ngobe.

In the 46th minute, Ngobe connected a cross from striker Jerry Skhosana and smashed it into an empty net. Pirates goalkeeper William Okpara tackled Premiero striker Assis and they were awarded a penalty. Assis made it 1-1 after converting that penalty. Substitute De Moises beat an offside-trap by Pirates defence in the 86th minute to score a winning goal for the Angolans.

Pirates are now lying at the bottom of the log after USMA of Algeria and Raja Casablanca of Morocco drew 2-2 on Friday. Premeiro are on top of the log.
