THURSDAY, 1.30PM:
SOUTH African Rugby Football Union senior vice-president Mluleki George has made himself available as a candidate for election as president of Sarfu. George was nominated by the rugby unions of Border , Natal, Boland and Free State.
It is believed that George — former Border scrumhalf — can win enough votes to beat the controversial Luyt in the current climate of suspicion and defensive rugby administration.
The deadline for nominations for the Sarfu elections, to be held at an AGM in November, is October 20.
