Motaung joins Chiefs

THURSDAY, 12.30PM:

IN a bid to strengthen their shaky defence, Kaizer Chiefs have signed Bafana Bafana vice-captain Sizwe Motaung. Motaung, who has had brief spells with Swiss first division club St Gallen and Spanish first division outfit Tenerife, has signed a six-month contract with “Amakhosi”.

Motaung, who is currently in France with Bafana Bafana, confirmed the deal on Wednesday. He said it has always been his desire to play for Chiefs. “I had discussions with Chiefs directors this week and we finally came to an agreement,” said an excited Motaung. “I am determined to contribute to the team because it has always been my wish to play for the side.”

Motaung will be joined by former Chiefs midfield stalwart Donald “Ace” Khuse and Bafana Bafana midfield general Doctor Khumalo later this month.
