SWAZILAND’S Paul Friedlander beat American Scott Dunlap on the second hole of their sudden-death play-off to win the Stenham Royal Swazi Sun Open on Sunday
With near-perfect weather conditions for the third and final round of the lightning-shortened tournament, both players parred the 18th at the first hole of the sudden death. Both then missed the green as they played the par-three 18th for the second time.
Friedlander was able to get up and save his par after chipping to four feet from the right-hand rough. Dunlap, however, splashed out to six feet from the green-side bunker and couldn’t hole his par putt, to give the 27-year-old Swazi pro the third professional title of his career.
