KAIZER Chiefs shot into second position on the Castle Premier League log when they beat ten-man AmaZulu 3-1 at King’s Park Rugby Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
Chiefs took the lead in the 17th minute when Zimbabwean international Robson Muchichwa scored from the penalty spot after Thabang Lebese was fouled by Musa Mntakwende.
Ten minutes later Chiefs bagged another when Lebese scored after receiving a good pass from Doctor Khumalo. The half time score was 2-0.
After the break it was Chiefs who again scored, when Siyabonga Nomvete chased a long through ball into the AmaZulu area, and scooped it over AmaZulu keeper Wade du Plessis.
AmaZulu were awarded a penalty by Linden in the 60th minute when Simon Magagula was floored by Robert Nauseb on his way into the Chiefs’ area. Pinto Barros sent the spot kick past Brian Baloyi.
