LINE-UP CHANGES FOR WINDIES

THE touring West Indies are rumoured to be considering line-up changes for the fifth Test. Not at all a bad idea, since at the very least fresh blood will be exposed to the stresses of being trounced at the international level. On the list to head back to the Caribbean are Clayton Lambert, Steuart Williams, injured pacemen Courtney Walsh, Frankly Rose and possibly back-up seamer Mervyn Dillon. A contingent of young Guyanese players are apparently waiting in the wings to be bowled by Jacques Kallis, including Reon King, Neil McGarrell and Keith Semple. Veteran Keith Arthurton of St Kitts and Nevis is also likely to take his turn in the hot seat.

NAMIBIA-MALI MATCH DELAYED

THE African Cup of Nations qualifier match between Mali and Namibia has been postponed from February 27 to May 8, the Namibia Football Association said on Wednesday. The Confederation of African Football has informed the association about the postponement of the match following a request by the Mali Football Federation. It is not known why the Malians asked for the postponement.
