MOZAMBIQUE’s publicly owned airports company, ADM, says it needs $42-million for the rehabilitation of runways and other infrastructure, according to a recent report on the state of the country’s airports. The chairman of the ADM board of directors, Jose Cossa, quotted in the Sunday paper Domingo, said the company does not have the funds, and will need to acquire them from international partners, mentioning in particular the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
AMCOAL AND ISCOR DIVORCE
IRON and steel parastatal Iscor said on Thursday that it will be abandoning a joint refractory venture with Anglo American Coal. The deal was intended to encourage foreign investors. Iscor has now decided to seek a new investor on its own.
