EGYPTIAN BLAZE OUT

EGYPTIAN firefighters doused a blaze overnight at an oil pipeline in the desert south of Cairo. Police said it took the team more than 10 hours to extinguish the fire, caused by an explosion on Thursday afternoon at the Mostorod pipeline in the Zahraa al-Maadi area. Energy Minister Hamdi al-Banbi told the government newspaper Al-Ahram on Friday that the blaze might have been started by a bulldozer which struck the pipeline while digging in the area.
