DAVID TERBRUGGE, Gauteng and South Africa’s right-arm seamer, is racing against time to be fit for South Africa’s cricket tour of New Zealand. He will see a doctor on Monday for a further assessment of his injured left ankle. With only nine days to go before the national squad go on tour, Terbrugge might have jeopardised his place by bowling for Gauteng this weekend and aggravating the injury. He took one for 28 after bowling eight overs and was seen to be hobbling on at least two occasions. “It was a problem. But only when I dug it in short and tried for extra pace,” Terbrugge said.
