PHOSA NOT RESIGNING

MPUMALANGA Premier Mathews Phosa slammed press reports on Friday that he intends resigning from government as unsubstantiated hype. Phosa said in a terse statement on Thursday that he had no intention of resigning and has never considered stepping down from either his government post or as African National Congress provincial chairman. The denial follows reports in the Afrikaans press on Thursday that Phosa’s name was withdrawn from the ANC’s provincial 1999 election list by the party’s national executive committee.
