RALF SCHUMACHER FASTEST AT KYALAMI

GERMAN Ralf Schumacher was fastest in testing at Kyalami on Tuesday as the Williams team bounced back in the final part of the build-up to the new Formula One season. He clocked a best time of one minute 24.63 seconds to erase some of the Williams’ team’s embarrassment 24 hours earlier when they were outpaced by new boys British American Racing. But Schumacher’s team mate, Indycar drivers’ champion Alex Zanardi, admitted he was struggling as he wound up third quickest behind Brazilian Riccardo Zonta in a BAR Supertec car. The Italian said: “We have found more problems than we expected we would here. But at least we know now what we have to do before we go to Melbourne.” The new F1 season starts in Australia on March 7.
