HOWZAT FOR THE KIDS

NEW Zealand’s cricketers may be a little distracted when they play South Africa on Saturday because an extra game has been slotted into their match schedule for Sunday. A full strength Kiwi side is to play Wadsworth Invitation XI — mainly 10 to 12-year-olds New Zealanders — who won the right to play the country’s top cricketers in an advertising promotion for insurer State Insurance. The game will be sandwiched between two one-day internationals in a six-game series with South Africa’s touring side in New Zealand. Saturday’s Auckland match will be the third, with the fourth one-day game in Hamilton on Monday.
